Our adventure starts at Place des Quinconces, in the heart of the city. As you ride along the quays, you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the Garonne River and its beautiful renovated embankments. Continue towards the Chaban-Delmas bridge, a great modern architectural achievement. Continue your bike ride in Bordeaux passing by the submarine base, a fascinating witness to Bordeaux’s history during World War II, and the Bacalan district, where you can admire new urban developments and an emerging artistic scene.
Then, cross the majestic Aquitaine bridge, which connects the two banks of the Garonne River. Make a detour to the centre of Lormont, where you’ll be enchanted by its picturesque charm. Once back on the right bank quays, we recommend a stop in the eco-district of Darwin for a unique atmosphere.

3. A ride around the lake

4. On the way to the beach

Start your bike ride in the center of Bordeaux, you can follow the bike path along the Garonne River towards the west. Enjoy the view of the river and admire the famous Bordeaux facades. Once you reach the municipality of Blanquefort, continue on the bike path along the D2 departmental road. This route will take you through varied landscapes, from vineyards to pine forests. After passing through Le Pian-Médoc and Sainte-Hélène, you’ll reach Carcans. At this point, you can choose between two routes: the first one follows the Carcans-Hourtin lake, with magnificent views of the lake, while the second one passes through the village of Maubuisson.
Regardless of the chosen route, you will eventually reach Lacanau, a charming seaside resort known for its fine sandy beaches and popular waves for surfers. 5. A tour of the urban vineyards
