If you’re planning to spend a few days in the city of Bordeaux and want to make the most of your stay by visiting the must-see places, then there’s nothing better than recommendations from inhabitants. So, we asked the members of the Central Hostel Bordeaux team to share their top recommendations to make your stay an unforgettable experience.

What are the top 3 places to visit ?

The members of the Central Hostel team are sharing their top 3 must-visit places during your trip to the “Sleeping Beauty” city. Among the places not to be missed, two locations stand out based on the responses gathered from the Central Hostel team: the historic district and the Bassins des Lumières, an unusual venue in Bordeaux.

As for the third essential place, there were multiple teams formed among the responses. According to Anaïs, assistant manager, and Idriss, night receptionist, the place to discover and complete their top 3 is the Darwin district, a former military barracks transformed into an eco-district where you can have a drink, explore street art, or visit the urban farm. On the other hand, Mannon, receptionist, and Antoine, chef, prefer to enjoy nature by visiting the public garden (Jardin Public) and its botanical garden (Jardin Botanique). Lastly, if you enjoy lounging around like Yannis, night receptionist, and Manon, receptionist, the quayside is the perfect spot for you. You can admire the Garonne River or the historical architecture of Bordeaux, especially by walking by the Water Mirror reflecting the iconic Place de la Bourse.

Rather unusual or cultural places ?

Whether you’re looking for unusual or cultural places during your stay in Bordeaux, you’ll definitely find something to your liking among the responses from the Central Hostel team. In terms of unusual places, Anaïs, assistant manager, suggests visiting the Cité du Vin, which offers an immersive experience in the world of wine. As for Antoine, chef, he recommends a sensory journey at a blind restaurant located on the Bordeaux quays. Regarding cultural places, Justine, general manager, has a preference for the CAPC Museum of Contemporary Art, which offers bold and diverse programming. Yannis, night receptionist, chooses the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design, showcasing a permanent collection of objects ranging from the 18th century to the present day.
